Oggetto:†††††††††††††††††††††††† Fwd: Rotary - Ignite Rotary Membership Growth!
Since I am the District Treasurer this year, things are busier than I thought they would be but I also am getting a lot of information that
is important to provide to others. As part of that I wanted to let you know our District is having a membership training seminar on
Saturday October 12 in Tarrytown, and the presenters are two well known Rotarians, Rick King, Rotary International President
in 2002 and Ken Boyd, RI Membership Chair.

It is time to Ignite
Rotary Membership Growth!
When Rick King was President of Rotary International and Ken Boyd was Chair of Rotary International
Membership Development during Rotary Year 2001-2002:
1. Rotary added 75,000 Rotary Members worldwide - the greatest net Rotary Membership growth in Rotary History.
2. There were 1,158 new Rotary Clubs established (one new Rotary Club every 8 hours).
3. Rotary had a global membership of 1,243,431 in 2002, compared to 1,219,801 members today. There were,
in 2002, 1.94% more Rotary Members worldwide than we have today.
4. Rotarians also contributed the highest amount of money ever raised for the Annual Fund of the Rotary
Rick King and Ken Boyd are the leading Champions of Rotary Membership Growth. They will come to our
Rotary District on October 12 and teach us how to increase membership in our Rotary Clubs. Donít miss out
on this opportunity! Every Rotary Club needs more members! You can register on our Rotary District website
In our Rotary District 7230, membership was 1,758 Rotarians in 2002. Eleven years later in 2013 our Rotary
Membership has now been reduced to 1,445 Rotarians, a membership decline of 17.8%,† which means that
membership in our Rotary District has declined 9.18 times faster that it has declined worldwide (at 1.94%).
It has not only been the trend for our Rotary District. It has also been the trend for all Rotary Districts in our region.
The Rotary Districts 7250 and 7260 on Long Island, for example, have merged because they lost too many members.
It has now become Rotary District 7255.
It is time to Ignite Rotary Membership Growth!
It is time to ignite every ROTARIAN by involving them in Rotary Membership activities. Everyone of us have
something to contribute toward the success of our Rotary Clubs. We therefore have the power to make a difference.
All our Rotary Clubs can become Premier Clubs and Receive the Governorís Rotary Membership Citation, if we only
learn how to do so. The key to success is to learn how to increase Rotary membership. There is not magic. It is all know-how!
We can all learn how to do it. That is how the success of America was built. To educate ourselves and become successful,
has always been the essence of the American Dream.
It is now time to implement the American Dream in Rotary. It is time to get an education on how to increase Rotary Membership
and the time is now! America was built on opportunities. The opportunity for Rotary is is now!
If you donít take this opportunity to learn from the best in Rotary on October 12, 2013, the opportunity may never come back!
It is time to chose between success or failure!
Success only costs $65, which is the price for the training with Rick King and Ken Boyd. Failure will cost much more!
Rick and Ken will fly all the way from California with a passion and dedication to train us how to grow membership in our
Rotary Clubs and our Rotary District. Do not let them down! They are coming here for us! The least we can do is to come out for them.
Rick and Ken are not being paid for their time. They are only reimbursed for their expenses. They volunteer their time,
talent and know-how as their gift to us! Our gift to them will be to come to their training.
During the training, Rick and Ken will teach how to:
1. Bring in new Rotary Members.
2. Establish Rotary Club Membership Goals
3. Develop Membership Committees.
4. Assign Mentors to each New Member,
5. Give Committee Assignments to new Rotary Members in the first week.
6. Hold Fireside Training for new Rotary Members
7. Involve new Rotary Members to Participates in Service Projects.
8. Teach Potential Rotary Members to get Involved in Service Projects.
9. Develop Attractive Rotary Club Websites.
10. Hold Rotary Club Assemblies focused on Rotary Membership.
11. Bring Visitors to Rotary Club Meetings.
12. Propose New Rotary Members.
We will also learn 15 Tips for Successful Rotary Clubs
We will give out District Awards to the best Rotary Clubs at our Rotary District Conference on May 9 and 10, 2014.
Every Premier Rotary Club will receive the ignite emblem shown above to sew onto their Rotary Club Banner.

Rotarians are entitled to hang this 8.5 x 11 inch Rotary Certificate on the wall in their workplace or business to inform people
that they live by the 4-Way Test. People respect people with principles. Rotarians stand by the principles of the 4-Way Test.
The power of the Internet puts the brains of millions of people together. It also puts 1.2 million Rotarians together. It does not
matter where we are and when we are available. The Internet makes it possible for Rotarians around the world to participate together.
